Best price for airport parking

Best price for airport parkingIf you are flying to your holiday destination and planning to park your car at or near the airport you are more than likely looking to get the best price for airport parking.

Book your airport parking well in advance of your trip to get the biggest savings and the earlier you can book the more you should save. If you just turn up at one of the airport long term car parks, you will invariably pay more than if you book your parking in advance. Booking on-line should also save you money even if you do so just before your trip starts.

  1. Hi there Neil,

That is totally brilliant, I had no idea such websites and services existed..never knew either that you could book and reserve your parking well in advance.

I think the vallet parking would be most suitable for families as being dropped off at the terminal building and then picked up from there would save a lot of hassle and be by far more convenient

  2. Thank you for your post on airport parking. Paying a premium to leave my car at the airport has always frustrated me and I have always looked for ways to cut down on the cost. Sometimes it takes a little work to find or you have to walk a few extra blocks, but as long as I time it right, the effort is always worth it. Thank you for your resourceful article.

    • Hi Ilyssa,

I like to drive to the airport because it’s always nice to have the car to come back to and not have to rely on taxis or public transport to get home. Like you, it does take a little work to get good parking at the cheapest price but it is worth the effort.

      Thanks for your comment.

      Neil

  3. Hello Neil,

I didn’t notice that it’s a big thing for one to consider the cost when it comes to car parking when going on vacation.

I am guessing anticipation and awareness is the key. The one thing to avoid a large fee is that constant reminder of booking a spot before thinking solely about the holidays.

I am quite surprise that there is quite a number of deals actually. It seems that drivers have different needs and wants.

    • Hi Tar,

Airport parking is a big industry worldwide with lots of private companies offering parking services as well as the main airport operators at all the world’s major airports. It is definitely worth shopping around to get the best price for you car parking.

      Thanks

      Neil

  5. Okay, hello again. Now this.. THIS IS SOMETHING I NEED! Wherever I go, I swear it never fails, I have to wait really long just to get a parking spot where I want, and most times if it is closer to the building, it costs a lot more. This is such a useful site man. I have saved it for future use. And I will definitely look into that valet parking, I think that’s a great idea (:

    • Hi Grln,

Valet parking is well worth trying if you haven’t used it before. I’m not sure where you are based but I live in the UK and recently I used a meet and greet service at Gatwick airport in London. Meet and greet is a bit like valet parking where a parking company driver meets you very near the terminal and then parks your car for you. They then meet you with your car near the terminal on your return. You can check out my review of what happened here – it couldn’t have been easier.

      Thanks

      Neil

  8. I hadn’t heard of Looking4Parking prior to reading this post, Neil. They appear to cover a lot of airports, finding the lowest price among the available options.

I have been using a company called The Parking Spot when I travel out of Houston, Texas. They have facilities at 21 airports in the south and eastern part of the United States, so they don’t cover any where near as many airports as Looking4Parking. As a member I get some discounts and special privileges. They also offer a number of perks, if you want them, at a price. These include washing the car, detailing it, etc. They also offer both uncovered and covered parking, which can be nice if your car is going to sit out in the hot Houston summer sun for a week.

I did a quick comparison of price on a potential trip. Looking4Parking ended up being $4 cheaper but used a parking facility that isn’t as highly rated as TheParkingSpot. So, both give good info.

    Very helpful post!

    • Hi Allyn,
Thanks for your comment. As you have rightly said Looking4Parking cover parking at a lot of airports, not just in the USA but other locations in Europe and worldwide. Depending on the airport location they offer various parking options, self park, covered, valet and parking at hotels near the airport so you can combine a stay at the hotel the night before your flight with your parking if you want. Sounds like a nice option offered by The Parking Spot to have your car washed while you are away. Looking4Parking may well be cheaper due to the number of parking operators they compare prices on, plus they run offers regularly with a 5% discount running now up until August 31 2015.
      Thanks
      Neil
